Yonex has a real winner on its hands with the VCORE series ...
The VCORE 100 LG 300 Tennis Racquet is a terrific all around racquet. Its 280 gram unstrung weight is a very easy to swing. Its 100 sq. in. head offers a generous sweet spot and good access to spin.
Compared to the VCORE SV model it is replacing it provides better access to spin, more forgiveness and a softer more comfortable feel.
The extra spin comes from the slightly more open string pattern. The VCORE 100's stringing pattern is a 16x19 compared to the SV series which was a 16x20. That one less cross opens up the string bed just a bit allowing the ball to sink in just a bit more to provide that extra bit of spin.
The slightly more open stringing pattern also helps with forgiveness. Yonex's new Namd technology also helps in this department. Namd provides a bit more flex to the racquet in key areas which allows it to respond better.
That slight bit more flex provided by Namd also make the feel of the Yonex VCORE 100 just a bit more comfortable on contact.
As always Yonex's Isometric head provide a larger sweetspot than traditional heads do making them just a bit easier to play with.
For the aspiring junior that likes the VCORE series and needs a manageable weight the VCORE LG is the perfect choice.
